1. About the Service

Fuel Sentinel (fuelsentinel.com.au) is a community-powered fuel availability map for Victoria, Australia. It aggregates data from the Victorian Government's Fair Fuel Open Data API and community-submitted reports to provide an indicative view of fuel availability at petrol stations across Victoria.

2. Accuracy Disclaimer

Fuel availability information displayed on Fuel Sentinel is indicative only and may not reflect current conditions at any given station. Specifically:

• Government price data is published with a 24-hour delay
• Community reports may be inaccurate, outdated, or unverified
• Station status can change rapidly, especially during fuel shortage events
• Fuel Sentinel makes no guarantee that any station shown as "full" will have fuel when you arrive

We strongly recommend verifying fuel availability by contacting the station directly or using official government resources before making significant travel decisions based on this service.

3. Use of the Service

You may use Fuel Sentinel for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or malicious fuel status reports
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute data from the service without permission
• Attempt to access, interfere with, or damage our systems
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable Australian law

4. User-Submitted Reports

By submitting a fuel status report, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge at the time of submission. You grant Fuel Sentinel a non-exclusive licence to display and use your submitted report on the map. We reserve the right to remove any report we consider inaccurate, inappropriate, or misleading.

5. Sentinel+ Subscription

Sentinel+ is a paid subscription service at $4.99 AUD per month. By subscribing you agree that:

• Payments are processed by Stripe and billed monthly
• You may cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal
• No refunds are provided for partial months
• Access codes are for personal use only and must not be shared
• We reserve the right to revoke access if codes are shared or misused
• Features included in Sentinel+ may change over time with reasonable notice

6. Data Attribution

Fuel price and availability data is sourced from the Victorian Government's Fair Fuel Open Data API operated by Service Victoria. Fuel Sentinel is an approved consumer of this API. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence.

Fuel Sentinel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Victorian Government or Service Victoria.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Fuel Sentinel and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of or reliance on information provided by this service, including but not limited to:

• Running out of fuel based on inaccurate map data
• Travel costs incurred due to incorrect station status information
• Any indirect, consequential, or special damages

8. Intellectual Property

The Fuel Sentinel name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property. The underlying fuel data remains the property of its respective sources (Service Victoria, OpenStreetMap contributors).

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will endeavour to notify Sentinel+ subscribers of material changes via email.
